We strive to protect the health and welfare of fish stocks whilst promoting a healthy marine ecosystem.

Targets

  • Source 100% of Ocado Own Range seafood from sustainable sources by 2030.
  • Reduce fishmeal and fish oil usage to forage fish dependency ratio (FFDR) < 1 by 2030.
  • Ensure that 100% of the fishmeal and fish oil in our supply chain is certified sustainable by 2027.

Our approach

We have an important responsibility to promote healthy oceans and fish stocks by making sustainable sourcing choices. We also know that our customers really care about how their seafood is sourced.

Our performance

In FY2023, 89% of Ocado Own Range seafood was certified as responsibly sourced, a 6% increase from our 2021 base year (83%).

Our partnerships

Since 2022, we've been members of the Sustainable Seafood Coalition and support the vision that 100% of the seafood sold in the UK comes from sustainable sources. We abide by the Sourcing and Labelling Codes of the Sustainable Seafood Coalition and we will never sell endangered species.
